Impact of Giving
From funding essential pieces of equipment to help diagnose, treat and teach; providing new hospital facilities or sponsoring specialist training scholars, your donations and legacies make the world of difference to help provide the best in veterinary care and education - not just for today's patients and students but for all those who will benefit for many years to come.
If you would like to find out about giving a donation or legacy to the Trust, we are a small friendly team and we'd love to hear from you - please email us or call us on 01223 764475/337630.
It isn't always about the "big ticket" items; we are here to provide smaller pieces of teaching and clinical equipment too and, where possible, work in partnership with other charitable trusts. Recently we supported the purchase of new large animal PM table, with a matched donation from the Marmaduke Shield Fund. Veterinary pathology is frequently described as the “the science behind the cure”. It is a key part of the veterinary student curriculum as it allows students to better understand disease processes, and how they can go about improving animal husbandry and treating diseases to improve health outcomes.
The new large animal PM table represents a step change in Cambridge’s delivery of teaching veterinary students post mortem examination procedures for large animals such as farm animals and horses. It is easily moveable and fully height adjustable, improving health and safety, and increasing flexibility and comfort in the learning space. The table will be used regularly by 4th, 5th and 6th year students all of whom receive practical pathology teaching sessions.
