Department A-Z

About Us

Camvet is a small charity dedicated to raising funds for the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital here in Cambridge. The hospital runs on a not-for-profit basis, so our goal is to fund essential equipment and facilities for diagnosing and treating the many thousands of animals referred for care. In addition, we help to fund teaching projects for our veterinary students. Every donation, no matter how large or small, really does make a huge difference to our animal patients.

Our Latest News

Our brand new appeal has been launched - and we are delighted to be involved with such an exciting project. Our surgical team have outlined plans to transform one of the small animal theatres so that the Queen's Veterinary School Hospital will be able to offer state-of-the-art non-invasive surgical techniques. With your help we have raised the funds needed to purchase a brand new ultrasound machine - which has now arrived in the Hospital. Thank you everyone who donated to such a worthwhile and key piece of diagnostic equipment. With thanks from us all - especially the imaging and small animal teams!

Over the years Maggie (and her son Konnor) have taken on a variety of extremely demanding fundraising cycling challenges and this year Maggie took on the huge challenge of cycling from London to Paris. A huge thanks to Maggie whose fantastic contribution has paid for an infusion pump for our small animal ward. In addition, Mandy Taylor (Crackerbury Pet Care in Wiltshire) is raising funds for our Cancer Therapy Unit and Intensive Care Unit. Mandy and her friends (human and canine) have just completed an extremely challenging trek along Offa's Dyke. Please support Mandy to reach her £500 target by donating via her Justgiving page (just click on the 'read more' arrow). A huge thank you to all involved, what an incredible achievement. If you have been inspired by Maggie and Mandy and would like to organise a fundraising event, we'd be delighted to hear from you!
